The British Broadcasting Corporation’s YouTube presence, promoted to a wiki entity on its second source appearance. Two channels are now represented: BBC Global, carrying New Normal with Katty Kay — a weekly explainer-interview series hosted by journalist Katty Kay covering how AI and other structural shifts are changing work and the economy — and BBC News, carrying AI Decoded, a longer panel programme hosted by Christian Fraser with recurring co-host Dr Stephanie Hare. Distinct register from the wiki’s other video sources (vendor talks, conference keynotes, academic interviews): the New Normal episodes are short (8–10 minutes), journalist-hosted, and built around a single expert guest unpacking one claim or paper for a general audience; AI Decoded runs ~26 minutes with a three-person panel and a viewer-question segment.

The two New Normal episodes address AI and employment, from complementary but distinct angles:

• “What If We’re Wrong About AI Layoffs?” (Jun 2026) — with economist Kathryn Anne Edwards, on ai-washing: the claim that present-day layoffs are frequently over-attributed to AI for stock-valuation-narrative reasons, and that attribution is likely to stay unmeasurable.
• “Researchers studied AI layoffs. Here’s their warning.” (Jul 2026) — with Professor Gerry Tsoukalas, on “The AI Layoff Trap”: a game-theoretic model predicting that competitive markets could force mass AI-driven layoffs as a dominant strategy, regardless of whether any individual firm’s leadership wants to avoid it.

The AI Decoded episode moves the BBC’s coverage from the labour question to the enterprise-return question:

• “Why isn’t AI working for your company?” (Aug 2026) — Christian Fraser with Peter Grant (GoWeaver AI), James Kuht (Pair AI) and Dr Stephanie Hare, on the gap between $2.5tn of global AI spend and the returns on the balance sheet: a PwC survey of ~4,500 CEOs finding 56% with no ROI yet and only one in eight able to claim a cost saving or revenue gain, a 3:1 ratio of tool access to training access in British businesses, and the workflow-bottleneck argument that speeding one link of a chain simply piles work at the next.

Note the format difference for source-quality purposes: two of the three AI Decoded guests sell the remedy under discussion, which the New Normal single-academic-guest format avoids.
