Luther Lowe
Confidence 0.70 · 2 sources · last confirmed 2026-10-03
Head of public policy at Y Combinator. In this wiki he is the host, not a subject: the MC of YC Root Access’s The Startup Industrial Base, a full day of founders and US officials on defense in Washington, D.C. (30 September 2026). Promoted to an entity page on 3 October 2026, after appearing on two source pages from that event.
What he does on the pages
- Introduces the speakers. His introduction of Under Secretary Emil Michael, “the under secretary of war for research and engineering at the department and the department’s chief technology officer”, is where the Michael & Miller page takes its speaker roles from.
- Closes the day. In his closing remarks (7:57:52) he returns to Garry Tan’s opening question and recaps three answers from the day: competitions with clear standards and actual orders (Michael), bring a solution and not just a technology (Duffy), and exciting a user and finding a buyer “are two different jobs” (Hurst).

Open questions
- Both appearances are as host. A source in which Lowe sets out YC’s public-policy positions himself, rather than introducing others, would give this page content of its own.
