- Model-selection criterion was taste, not capability. “Claude has really good taste, and marketing’s all about taste. - CSM scope expansion to revenue analysis. “We had a hospitality business that was struggling with their revenue in terms of where can we find cost savings? Claude was able to take the reporting from the historical standpoint and say, here’s where we see your best performing weekends. Here are the weekends that were not performing as well. That is something so far beyond my typical role as a CSM.” Augmentation as role-level scope expansion — the CSM now does the kind of analysis that previously would have come from a separate analytics or revenue-management function.
- Developer-productivity claim — 40%. “The time it takes to maintain some of the code base has been reduced dramatically. From idea to prototype has decreased massively. […] The biggest change has been the ability of developers to free up some time for really value adding feature development. Claude Code has helped me become a better engineer. I feel like it has helped amplify my expertise. We’ve seen a 40% increase in productivity.” The 40% number is a vendor-side practitioner claim with no methodology context — treat as testimonial, not measured. - Shared-mission framing. “HubSpot and Anthropic have an amazing shared mission, which we can give people access to tools and information to build their businesses in a way that just wasn’t before possible.” A small-business-empowerment frame the wiki should keep tagged — it recurs in Emergent (Mukund Jha interview) as the central thesis.
Why this matters (for the wiki)
- Customer success ≠ customer support. Most existing wiki sources on generative-AI in customer-facing work index on support (Brynjolfsson, Lyft). HubSpot extends the frame to customer success / strategic account management, where the AI’s contribution is insight generation and follow-up drafting rather than deflecting tickets. Different work, different value-creation logic.
- Role-scope expansion. Item 4 above is a small but interesting data point on augmentation that changes what the role does, not just how fast it does it.
